We re looking for a hands-on Project Accountant to join a growing finance team in Haydock. You ll take ownership of the monthly accounting for a portfolio of projects, working closely with project, commercial and finance colleagues to make sure every number is accurate, supported and understood. What you ll be doing Prepare monthly revenue recognition and project cost accounting for long-term contracts Maintain project balance sheet positions, including WIP, accrued and deferred revenue, retentions and provisions Review project cost reports and CVRs, testing percentage complete, forecast costs and margins Deliver month-end journals, reconciliations, schedules and commentary to deadline Investigate variances, resolve data issues and explain changes in project performance Support improvements to project accounting processes, controls and systems What we re looking for You ll be newly qualified or part-qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent), with experience in project or contract accounting. You ll understand percentage-of-completion accounting and the contract balance sheet, and be confident working with project cost reports and commercial teams.
