If you are highly organised, detail-oriented, and skilled at supporting a busy calendar of committees, this represents a great opportunity to contribute to professional governance in a fascinating industry.

Please note, this is a full-time, office-based temporary position paid on a weekly PAYE basis and will require a speedy start; lengthy notice periods cannot be accommodated.

Temporary Secretary Responsibilities

This position will involve, but will not be limited to:

  • Coordinating committee and council meetings, including organising agendas, papers, logistics, and minute-taking.
  • Maintaining accurate and accessible records of all committee documentation.
  • Tracking actions arising from meetings and following up with stakeholders to ensure progress.
  • Supporting with meeting logistics, including preparing materials and managing schedules.
  • Building and maintaining professional relationships with committee members and senior stakeholders.
  • Ensuring compliance with governance procedures and standard practices.
  • Assisting with ad hoc administrative tasks related to governance and committee support.

Temporary Secretary Rewards

  • £15.38–£16.41 per hour, plus holiday pay, paid weekly via PAYE.
  • 37.5 hours per week
  • Initial assignment likely lasting at least three months, with potential to become a permanent role.

Temporary Secretary Experience Essentials

  • Proven experience supporting meetings and minute-taking in a professional environment.
  • Expert team assistant/secretarial experience in a similar post.
  • Strong organisation skills and excellent attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work independently and handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working with senior stakeholders in a busy setting is desirable.

Location
Based in Bicester, this is a fully onsite role, with parking available.
