Key Responsibilities

• 
  

  Supporting the Chef, Catering Manager and wider kitchen team.

• 
  

  Assisting with the preparation and service of hot and cold meals.

• 
  

  Serving food to pupils and staff while maintaining excellent customer service.

• 
  

  Liaising with teachers and school staff to ensure a smooth meal service.

• 
  

  Operating tills and handling payments where required.

• 
  

  Cleaning and clearing down kitchen and dining areas after service.

• 
  

  Maintaining high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and kitchen safety.

• 
  

  Following food safety procedures and allergen guidelines at all times.

• 
  

  Keeping food service areas clean, organised and well stocked.

What We''re Looking For

• 
  

  Previous experience as a Catering Assistant, Kitchen Assistant or Food Service Assistant. School catering experience is advantageous.

• 
  

  Food Safety and Food Allergen qualifications, or willingness to complete the required training.

• 
  

  An Enhanced DBS check covering the child workforce, including the relevant barred list check where required, or willingness to obtain one.

• 
  

  Strong communication and organisational skills.

• 
  

  Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced catering environment.

• 
  

  A reliable, positive and professional attitude.

• 
  

  Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• 
  

  A passion for delivering excellent service and supporting busy school catering operations.
