Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Medical Transcriptionist Team Leader to join St Helens Administrative Team.The post holder will provide comprehensive admin support to Consultants and Junior Medical Doctors in Community Mental Health Services. Our community mental health teams work with people with severe and enduring mental health issues as well as those with less severe illness who have not responded to provided interventions in primary care services. They offer flexible, responsive and proactive integrated services to individuals with severe and complex mental and behavioural disorders. The service offered to individuals will be provided in the most appropriate setting primarily within the individuals own home and enable individuals in crisis to achieve the highest level of functioning possible in the least restrictive setting; preventing unnecessary hospitalisation and facilitate more rapid discharge from an acute care setting.Mersey Care is one of the largest trusts providing physical health and mental health services in the North West, serving more than 1.4 million people across our region and are also commissioned for services that cover the North West, North Wales and the Midlands.Responsibilities

Plan, organise, direct and co-ordinate the work of the identified service.Organise own workload and co-ordinate workload activities within the team.Demonstrate flexibility and use own initiative to carry out duties that contribute to efficient and effective use of the medical team’s time.Work to tight deadlines and withstand the pressure of a busy department with a minimum of supervision.Qualifications and Skills

Proficient in the use of audio-typing and word-processing packages.Qualified to RSA Level 3 typing/word-processing or equivalent.Knowledge of medical terminology is essential.Possession of the AMSPAR certificate.Personal Qualities and Environment

Excellent interpersonal skills and a friendly telephone manner.Ability to work on your own initiative and maintain confidentiality at all times.Adherence to Trust Policies and Procedures.Additional Information
