General Cover Teacher - LeicesterLocation: Leicester Contract: Day-to-day, short-term and ongoing supply Pay: 95 - 120 a day Start date: ASAP About the RoleAs a General Cover Teacher, you will supervise classes during the short-term absence of the regular teacher. Work will usually be set in advance, enabling you to focus on delivering instructions clearly, maintaining a positive learning environment and supporting pupils to complete their work. Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver pre-planned lessons across a range of subjects and year groups.Manage classroom behaviour in line with each school''s policies.Ensure pupils remain engaged, productive and safe throughout the lesson.Provide clear feedback to the school on pupil progress and any issues arising.Adapt confidently to different school settings, routines and expectations.Carry out reasonable duties that support the smooth running of the school day. About YouQualified Teacher Status (QTS) is welcomed, although applications from experienced cover supervisors and instructors will also be considered.Strong classroom and behaviour-management skills.A calm, professional and flexible approach.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.Recent experience in a UK secondary school is desirable.A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
