Job Title: Site Agent - Reservoir Project
Location: Portsmouth
Rate: -400 per day (CIS)

Contract Type: Freelance / Contract
Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Site Agent from a strong engineering background to support delivery of a major reservoir scheme in Portsmouth. This role requires a hands-on individual with a solid understanding of heavy civils, capable of driving works on site, managing technical challenges, and ensuring successful delivery in line with programme and commercial targets.
Key Responsibilities:
Take full ownership of site operations, ensuring works are delivered in line with programme, budget, and HSEQ standards
Lead and coordinate site teams including Section Engineers, Sub Agents, and subcontractors
Interpret and implement technical drawings, specifications, and ITPs (Inspection & Test Plans)
Drive programme delivery, identifying and mitigating risks to critical path activities
Ensure compliance with RAMS, permits, and Temporary Works procedures
Liaise closely with the Project Manager, design team, and commercial team to manage change, variations, and EOTs (Extensions of Time)
Maintain robust site records including daily diaries, as-built records, and progress reporting
Oversee quality assurance processes and ensure works meet specification and industry standards
Manage site logistics, plant, and materials to optimise productivity and minimise downtime
Champion a strong safety culture and ensure full compliance with CDM regulations
Requirements:
Engineering background (essential) with a degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering or related discipline
Demonstrable experience as a Site Agent delivering heavy civils / water infrastructure schemes (reservoir experience highly desirable)
Strong understanding of earthworks, RC structures, and water-retaining structures
SMSTS certified
CSCS Black Card (preferred)
First Aid at Work
Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts and commercial awareness
Proven ability to manage programmes (Primavera P6 / MS Project advantageous)
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Desirable:
Experience on large-scale reservoir or dam projects
Temporary Works Coordinator (TWC) or Supervisor (TWS) certification
Experience working with Tier 1 contractors and multi-disciplinary teams
