About the Role

As a Level 3 Teaching Assistant in Waltham Forest, you will provide valuable support across the classroom, helping pupils stay engaged and get the most from their learning.

You''ll work alongside the class teacher, assisting with lessons, working with individual pupils and small groups, and helping to create a positive classroom atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities

• Support pupils across the primary classroom.
• Work with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning.
• Assist the teacher with lessons, activities and classroom preparation.
• Help pupils overcome barriers to learning.
• Encourage positive behaviour and independent learning.
• Adapt support to suit different pupils'' abilities and needs.
• Prepare and organise classroom resources.
• Build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
• Promote an inclusive and encouraging learning environment.
• Follow safeguarding and school policies at all times.

Candidate Requirements

• Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning, Education or a relevant childcare/education subject.
• Previous experience working within a primary school is desirable.
• A good understanding of children''s learning and development.
• Confident supporting pupils individually and within groups.
• Patient, enthusiastic and proactive approach.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work effectively alongside teachers and other support staff.
• Enhanced DBS, or willingness to apply.
