Building Control Surveyor

Location: King Square, Bridgwater, TA6 3AR
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Duration: 6+ Months
Working Hours: Mon – Fri, 09:00 – 17:00, 37 Hours per week
Pay rate: £ 41.54 per hour

Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections and surveys of buildings to ensure compliance with building regulations and standards.
• Provide expert advice on construction projects and building designs to ensure safety and compliance.
• Assess and approve building plans and specifications submitted by developers and contractors.
• Investigate and resolve issues related to building defects, safety concerns, and non-compliance.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other professionals to facilitate project completion.
• Prepare detailed reports and documentation on inspections and findings.
• Stay updated on changes in building regulations and industry standards.
• Engage with stakeholders, including property owners, developers, and the public, to address concerns and provide guidance.

Person Specification

• Relevant qualification in building surveying or a related field.
• Proven experience in building control, surveying, or a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of building regulations, standards, and construction processes.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to ensuring safety and compliance.
• Proficiency in using relevant software and tools for surveying and reporting.
