Just Eat Takeaway.com is looking for a Software Engineer to join the Messaging Integrations team and help build world-class messaging solutions. You''ll work within a team supporting other engineering teams, providing capabilities, tools, and support to enable rapid, safe, and reliable delivery.Messaging is central to our software and microservices architecture. We aim to make messaging easy and to give our product and engineering teams time back to focus on customer needs. We want engineers who thrive on new challenges, enjoy solving complex problems, and have a passion for messaging and event-driven architecture.Responsibilities include:

Be passionate about Event-Driven and Microservices ArchitectureUnderstand and drive APIs, both async and syncCode, maintain, and deploy quality software in an agile environmentCollaborate with engineering teams across countries, supporting messaging-related problemsDevelop software with a product-oriented mindset, defining features and communicating technical workOwn workstreams, track progress, and communicate updates transparentlyPropose and implement improvements in processes, designs, and practicesSupport components in production, including participating in on-call rotationsWhat you bring:

Experience delivering high-quality software, with solid coding fundamentals in Go and C#Ability to work independently and collaboratively on complex problemsExperience with Amazon Web ServicesFamiliarity with Agile practices (Scrum, Kanban)Critical thinking and strong communication skillsExposure to streaming, messaging, or event-driven architecturePreferred qualifications:

Experience with messaging technologies like Kafka or SNS/SQSKnowledge of API technologies such as HTTP, REST, OpenSpec, or AsyncAPIUnderstanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD cycles, and self-service infrastructureKnowledge of infrastructure as code tools (Pulumi, CDK, Terraform)Experience with microservices, serverless computing, and cloud architecture patternsExperience in e-commerce environments emphasizing reliabilityFamiliarity with container orchestration tools like KubernetesOur culture
