Senior Civil Engineer – Residential Development
Location: Central London (Hybrid)
Contract: 12-24 month contract
IR35 Status: Outside IR35
Rate: Circa £40–£47 per hour

An established independent civil and infrastructure design consultancy is seeking an experienced Senior Civil Engineer to support the delivery of residential development projects across London and the South East.

The role offers involvement in technically engaging schemes, a collaborative project team, and flexible hybrid working from a Central London office.

The Role
You will take responsibility for the civil infrastructure and drainage design on residential-led developments, supporting projects from planning through to technical approvals and delivery.

Key responsibilities include:

• Detailed drainage and SuDS design
• Preparation of Flood Risk Assessments and surface water strategies
• Managing local authority and statutory submissions
• Delivery of Section 278 and Section 38 designs and approvals
• Liaison with councils, approving authorities and project stakeholders
• Supporting schemes through planning, technical approval and construction stages

About You

• Proven experience as a Senior Civil Engineer within a UK consultancy environment
• Strong background delivering residential infrastructure projects

Technically confident in:

• Drainage & SuDS design
• Flood Risk Assessments
• S278 / S38 approvals
• Comfortable working directly with local authorities and statutory bodies
• Able to operate independently while collaborating within a multidisciplinary team
