28 - 30 per hourKey ResponsibilitiesTeaching, Learning and AssessmentDeliver engaging, learner-focused sessions across Health and Social Care qualifications (e.g., BTEC, T-Level, or Access programmes).
Plan, prepare and adapt schemes of work and lesson plans to meet student needs.
Assess and provide feedback on student work, ensuring timely progress against awarding body criteria.
Use a variety of teaching methods and digital tools to enhance learning.
Student SupportAct as a personal tutor for a designated group of learners, providing academic and pastoral support.
Monitor attendance, punctuality, and progress, and implement interventions where necessary.
Support learners with progression routes into higher education or employment within the health and social care sector.
Quality and ComplianceContribute to internal quality assurance processes, ensuring compliance with awarding body standards.
Keep accurate records of teaching, learning, and assessment.
Support departmental self-assessment and quality improvement activities.
Professional Development and CollaborationEngage in CPD to maintain current knowledge of both sector practice and educational methods.
Work collaboratively with colleagues and external partners to support learner outcomes.
Participate in departmental meetings, training, and events as required.
Person SpecificationEssentialDegree (or equivalent) in Health and Social Care or a related discipline.
Teaching qualification (PGCE, CertEd, or willingness to gain one).
Relevant professional experience in health and social care.
Experience of teaching, training, or mentoring.
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Commitment to inclusive teaching and learner success.
DBS must be on the Update Service or issued in 3 months
DesirableAssessor and/or Internal Verifier qualifications.
Knowledge of awarding body requirements (Pearson, NCFE, City and Guilds, T-Level delivery).
Evidence of innovative teaching practice including the use of technology.
Knowledge of safeguarding, equality, diversity and health and safety in an FE setting.
