PE Instructor - SEMH Alternative Provision - Farnborough Prospero Teaching is seeking an enthusiastic and resilient PE Instructor to join a specialist Alternative Provision in the Farnborough area. The setting supports young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and provides a structured, nurturing environment designed to help pupils re-engage with learning and develop essential life skills. The provision is looking for someone who can use sport, physical activity, and positive role-modelling to motivate students, build trust, and promote emotional regulation. This is a temp-to-perm role, with the intention that the successful candidate becomes a permanent member of the team in July, providing stability and consistency for pupils. The Role: Lead PE sessions and physical activities tailored to SEMH learners Promote teamwork, confidence, resilience, and healthy lifestyle habits Build positive, trusting relationships with students Use trauma-informed and restorative behaviour strategies Support learners during PE lessons and across the wider school day Work closely with pastoral, behaviour, and senior leadership teams Be a calm, encouraging, and reliable presence for pupils Ideal Candidate: Background in sport, coaching, youth work, mentoring, or PE instruction An ideal role for fitness instructors, sports graduates, and anyone with a passion, interest, or background in sporting environments who wants to make a meaningful impact Able to inspire and engage
