Support Worker/Healthcare Assistant

The Support Worker / Healthcare Assistant will help and assist the team with day-to-day routines, including personal care and feeding.

The Healthcare Assistants / Support Workers must have at least 6 months of care experience and demonstrate compassion.

They will assist with daily care activities and are vital members of teams in hospitals, homes, and clinics.

As a Healthcare Assistant and Support Worker, you will work under supervision of nursing staff and alongside other healthcare assistants.

Your duties may include:

Helping patients with washing, showering, or dressing

Assisting with feeding

Making and changing beds

Turning patients to prevent pressure sores

Talking to patients to reduce anxiety

Helping patients move around

Assisting with toileting and bedpans

Maintaining tidy wards or homes

Managing supplies and equipment

Daily tasks may involve using mobility aids and escorting patients between departments. With experience, you may participate in training new healthcare assistants.
