Paint Technician
We are seeking a Paint Technician to work on the production of lifeboats.This role covers prepping, painting, filling and fairing GRP/composite components to a high, consistent standard in a production environment.Key ResponsibilitiesSanding, abrading and cleaning GRP/composite surfacesAccurate maskingChecking for and identifying minor imperfections before paint applicationApplying primers, topcoats and marine grade coatings (brush, roller or spray)Mixing/applying fillers to achieve the correct profileSanding and fairing surfaces smooth before final finishingEnsuring high quality, consistent finishesGeneral DutiesSupporting production output and build schedulesMaintaining tools, equipment and workspaceFollowing all health and safety procedures including correct PPE and chemical handlingSkills and Experience RequiredPrevious experience in marine, automotive, aerospace or similar finishing industriesCompetent in prepping, painting, filling and fairingGRP/composite experience is advantageousStrong eye for detail and quality workmanshipPersonal QualitiesReliable, proactive and takes pride in workAble to maintain quality while working efficientlyGood communicator and team player Rates and contract infoPAYE - 16.00 - 17.50 per hourHoliday Pay - 1.93 - 2.11 per hour (can be accrued or advanced)Umbrella Company - 21.43 - 23.44 per hour6 month contract (long term sick cover)42 hour week as standard
