General Practitioner

Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for a General Practitioner to join our Primary Care team at HMP Pentonville, a category B remand Prison located in Islington close to Caledonian Road Station. The site houses around 1180 male patients aged 18+, many of whom have complex health needs. Ideal applicants will be passionate about working with disadvantaged patients and comfortable in a busy environment supporting primary care, substance misuse and mental health needs.HoursThis position will involve a mixture of standard and long days. Standard day: 2 sessions/8 hours. Long day: 3 sessions/12 hours. Applicant must be able to work late evenings up to 10pm.SalaryThis is a full-time role working 40 hours per week. The salary is up to £130,000 per annum depending on experience.Legal and securityCandidates are required to have a legal right to work in the UK and due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.Main duties of the job

MBChB or MBBSInclusion on the GMC Register and GP Performers ListEvidence of engagement with annual appraisalExperience working as a General Practitioner in community general practiceEvidence of continuing professional developmentAbility to work with patients with a history of substance misuseRCGP Certificate in Substance Misuse 1 and 2, or prepared to undertake these qualificationsDisclosure and Barring Service Check
