Senior Quantity Surveyor - Build

Highly regarded Tier 1 Major Contractor urgently seek a Senior / Quantity Surveyor for a major Construction project in Berkshire. The company are one of the UKs most prolific contractors who are well respected and successfully bid and win on some of the most prestigious projects throughout the UK. They have an excellent reputation for the successful delivery of projects and in addition can boast an incredible staff retention record, progressive career paths and an excellent cohesive and professional work environment to thrive in. The project is a c£350m newbuild of multi discipline packages where works consist of: Steel / RC Structures, industrial and traditional build projects. This role will be to commercially manage large packages of the works, valued c£50m, the project has at least another 5 years to run.Responsibilities
Analytical Thinking and Decision MakingOrders information and systematically checks dataCost EngineeringPrepares Activity Schedules, Resource Schedules and analyses tender documentsEstimatingCritically appraises, estimates and negotiates the above with 3rd partiesPlanningReviews complex contract programmes such as Time-LocationAssists with the preparation of delay and disruption programmesProject ManagementMonitors subcontract activities, measure and respond appropriatelyAnalyses the commercial progress and report to senior project staffProcurementUndertakes constructability analyses using construction programmesPrepares procurement programme and helps develop the strategyCommercial ManagementAnalyses rates and prices, agreement of variations and or compensation events as requiredPrepares, submits and negotiates claims when requiredPrepares Internal reports, commercial progress and financial reconciliationDevelopment, Recruitment and RetentionMaintains own Personal Development PlanActively supports the development of othersProduces plans for team to achieve goals / aspirationsSupports recruitment of lower gradesQualifications
Ideal candidate will be degree qualified and a member of RICS, ICES or CIOB or be working towards it.How to apply
