a globally respected body dedicated to promoting innovation, knowledge exchange, and excellence in civil engineering.The Role:We are looking for a talented and passionate Sous Chef with experience in banqueting and exceptional culinary skills to join our dedicated team. You will work closely with the Head Chef, delivering exceptional food quality and service across all areas of the kitchen ensuring One Great George remains the preferred choice meetings and events venue in Westminster.Responsibilities:Assisting in the preparation of dishes, ensuring quality and consistency.Overseeing the plating and presentation of food.Support customer needs and respond to feedback to continuously improve service.Liaise with suppliers and manage resources effectively.Assist in menu development within set deadlines.Maintain high food safety standards.Uphold company hygiene and allergen procedures, ensuring all staff are trained and informed.Attend training sessions and meetings to stay current on best practices.Train kitchen staff in food preparation, safety, and cooking techniques.About you:Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, various cuisines, and food preparation methods.Banqueting experienceProven experience in high-volume kitchens.Background in 4/5-star environments is a plus.High attention to detail.A collaborative team player with excellent communication skills.Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise effectively, and maintain a well-organised and productive kitchen environment.Calm under pressure.Intermediate or advanced food hygiene certification.Basic computer skills and relevant culinary qualifications.The flexibility to work evenings and weekends where requiredBenefits:25 days annual leave plus Bank HolidaysShutdown over Christmas periodAnnual £100 allowance towards your well-beingDiscounted hot food from on-site Café barUp to eight per cent of salary contributed to a personal pension scheme24-hour employee support lineDeath in service benefit equivalent to one years salaryInterest free season ticket loanCycle to work schemeBig Gym membership savings with the Gymflex schemeYour Rewards discount scheme
