We are looking for staff who will take on either Principal, Associate or Chief Geotechnical Engineering roles in our Ground Engineering business. The successful candidates will hold pivotal leadership roles in our Geotechnical and Numerical Modelling Technical Disciplines, driving complex geotechnical projects, contributing to a technical review function, and supporting AtkinsRéalis’ colleagues to enhance their understanding of advanced geotechnical principles.The core of our technical capability is our Geotechnical and Numerical Modelling Technical Disciplines. These areas enable AtkinsRéalis to push the envelope of geotechnical design and modelling as clients continually demand more from us.Responsibilities

The candidate should have a leadership and technical capability to:Drive complex geotechnical projects and contribute to interdisciplinary project work.Lead numerical modelling teams with advanced numerical modelling software (e.g., FLAC / FLAC3D, PLAXIS 2D / 3D) and analyze results.Validate geotechnical numerical analyses and calibrate numerical models.Manage the process of geotechnical numerical analysis within an interdisciplinary project environment.Drive digital innovation to enhance advanced geotechnical analysis and design.Communicate effectively with clients and engineers from other disciplines and produce exemplary written documents.Qualifications

A good academic background with an engineering degree and ideally an MSc or PhD in a related subject, plus Chartered status.Experience in geotechnical analysis and design, including seismic analysis for shallow and deep foundations, soil-structure interaction, seismic deformational analyses, seismic response of dams and embankments, liquefaction assessment and ground improvement.Experience in leading numerical modelling teams with software such as FLAC / FLAC3D and PLAXIS 2D / 3D.Detailed understanding of advanced constitutive soil models, parameter selection, soil-structure interaction, and related numerical modelling software.Experience validating geotechnical numerical analyses and calibrating models.Experience managing geotechnical numerical analysis within interdisciplinary projects.Capability to drive digital innovation in geotechnical analysis and design.Excellent communication and report-writing skills with the ability to review colleagues’ work.Willingness to travel on short assignments within the UK and overseas and a valid UK driving licence.Why work for AtkinsRéalis?
