Front End Developer - Design System Location: UK-based, with some travel to Taunton Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time Salary: £60,000 - £65,000 per annum, plus benefits Security Clearance: BPSS required Start Date: ASAP The Role We''re looking for a Front End Developer who specialises in design systems to help build, maintain and drive adoption of a government design system. You''ll create accessible, reusable components that teams across the programme can rely on, and you''ll support their rollout through documentation, communication and hands-on adoption help. This is a Front End specialist role. We want someone who has built or maintained component libraries and cares about accessibility, performance and developer experience What You''ll Be Doing Build and maintain a government-standard component library and design system. Audit and remediate components to WCAG 2.2 AA. Develop Front End components in the design system''s existing stack, packaged and versioned for reuse. Work with designers using Figma (including Dev Mode and Figma Make) to turn designs into production components. Support change, communications and adoption activity for design system rollout across delivery teams. Write and maintain automated tests, with component testing through Storybook and Chromatic. Maintain automated build, test and deployment pipelines using Azure DevOps and YAML. Maintain documentation sites and release notes, including migration guides for breaking changes. ..... full job details .....
