We are recruiting on behalf of a growing furniture business looking for a reliable and hardworking Driver''s Mate to support its furniture delivery operations in Shrewsbury.

The business operates from a depot in Warrington, where stock is collected before being transported to Shrewsbury for delivery to customers. The role involves assisting with loading and unloading furniture, carrying heavy items, and ensuring deliveries are completed safely and efficiently.

Due to ongoing operational requirements, we are looking for a physically fit, dependable individual who takes pride in their work and enjoys working as part of a team.

As a Furniture Delivery Driver''s Mate, you will work alongside a delivery driver to ensure furniture is collected from the Warrington depot and delivered to customers in and around Shrewsbury.

This is a physically demanding, hands-on role involving regular heavy lifting, moving bulky furniture, and assisting with deliveries throughout the working day.

The successful candidate will be comfortable with manual handling, working as part of a team, and providing excellent customer service when interacting with customers.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting with loading furniture stock at the Warrington depot.

• Helping secure furniture safely for transportation.

• Travelling with the delivery driver from Warrington to Shrewsbury.

• Loading and unloading furniture throughout the working day.

• Carrying heavy and bulky furniture items safely.

• Assisting with delivering furniture into customers'' homes and placing items in the appropriate rooms where required.

• Working alongside the driver to complete deliveries efficiently and on schedule.

• Handling furniture carefully to prevent damage during transportation and delivery.

• Providing a professional and friendly service to customers.

• Following delivery schedules and instructions from the operations team.

• Maintaining a clean, tidy, and safe working environment.

• Following health and safety procedures, particularly when lifting and handling heavy items.

• Reporting any delivery issues or damage to the relevant team.

• A reliable, punctual, and hardworking attitude.

• Physically fit and comfortable with regular heavy lifting.

• Ability to handle bulky and heavy furniture safely.

• Good communication and customer service skills.

• Ability to work effectively as part of a two-person delivery team.

• A positive attitude and willingness to help wherever required.

• Willingness to travel to Warrington to collect stock before completing deliveries in Shrewsbury.

• Previous experience in furniture delivery, removals, or a similar role.

• Experience with loading and unloading goods.

• Knowledge of safe manual handling techniques.

• Previous experience in warehouse operations, logistics, or other physically demanding work.

Candidates without previous delivery experience but who have a strong work ethic and are comfortable with physical work are also encouraged to apply.

• Daily pay of -100.

• Estimated annual earnings of -26,000, based on five paid days per week across 52 weeks.

• Monday to Friday working pattern.

• Scheduled working hours of 8:00 am to 6:00 pm, although the team typically finishes earlier depending on the day''s deliveries.
