Are you an experienced Manual Turner looking for a long-term role where your engineering skills really matter?

We’re working with an established engineering business in East Sussex that is looking for a skilled Manual Turner to join its machine shop. You’ll be producing small, high-precision metal components, working to tight tolerances and taking pride in getting things right first time.
  
What you’ll be doing

• Operating manual lathes and mills
• Machining small metal components to exact specifications
• Reading and working from engineering drawings
• Working to tight tolerances and high-quality finishes
• Using measuring equipment including verniers, micrometers and bore micrometers
• Carrying out basic inspection of completed components
• Completing relevant production documentation
• Maintaining high standards of quality and health & safety

  
What we’re looking for
You’ll ideally be a time-served Manual Turner with solid hands-on experience using manual lathes and mills.
You’ll need:

• Proven experience in manual turning and milling
• Strong ability to read and understand engineering drawings
• Experience working to high tolerances
• Good knowledge of precision measuring equipment
• Excellent attention to detail
• A strong focus on quality and safe working practices
• The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Previous experience working within a machine shop environment would be advantageous.
