Academics are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-regarded primary school in Luton for a British Sign Language (BSL) Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated team. This is a long-term opportunity supporting pupils with hearing impairments in a nurturing, inclusive, and supportive environment.The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for education and a strong commitment to supporting young learners with additional needs. You will play a key role in helping pupils access the curriculum, working closely with teaching staff across Early Years, KS1, and KS2.Role: BSL Teaching AssistantPhase: PrimaryQualification: BSL Level 1 to level 6Pay: £95 to £120 depending on experienceResponsibilities:Supporting pupils with hearing impairments to access learning and reach their full potentialCommunicating effectively using British Sign LanguageAssisting the class teacher with the planning and delivery of engaging and age-appropriate lessonsProviding feedback on pupil progress and identifying areas for developmentPromoting a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environmentSupporting pupils both inside and outside of the classroom where requiredRequirements:Minimum Level 1 qualification in British Sign LanguagePrevious experience working with children with hearing impairments is highly desirablePassionate about primary education and supporting young learnersStrong communication skills in both BSL and spoken/written EnglishAbility to work collaboratively as part of a teamC
