SC or DV requiredRole Overview:You will lead the integration of ethical principles and human factors into AI assurance processes, ensuring that AI adoption considers societal, cultural, and operational impacts alongside technical reliability. Your guidance will influence design, deployment, and governance of AI systems to be trustworthy, transparent, and aligned with emerging regulatory frameworks.Key Responsibilities:Integrate ethical, human factors, and societal considerations into AI assurance processesDevelop and implement frameworks for human oversight, trust, accountability, and explainabilityConduct ethical risk assessments covering fairness, bias, autonomy, and proportionality of AI decision-makingAdvise on human–machine interaction, including usability, operator trust, and training requirementsContribute to TEVandV activities with a focus on safety, resilience, and ethical complianceGuide stakeholders on adherence to ethical principles, AI Strategy, and regulatory requirements (e.g., EU AI Act, ISO/IEC 42001)Deliver training and thought leadership on responsible AI practices to project teamsRequired Expertise:Proven experience in responsible AI, human factors, or ethics in technologyTrack record embedding ethical frameworks into AI/ML assurance processesStrong understanding of bias, fairness, and explainability challenges in AIApplied expertise in human factors, behavioural science, or ergonomics related to technology adoptionAbility to bridge technical assurance, human-centred design, and regulatory complianceExperience in Defence, Aerospace, or national security environmentsFamiliarity with MOD or Defence ethical guidance for AIBackground in user research, human–machine teaming, or safety-critical systemsWhy This Role:This is a rare opportunity to influence how AI interacts with humans and society in high-stakes environments.
