CNC Setter / Operator – Turning

Location: Stockport, Greater Manchester
Salary: £43,200 per annum (including shift allowance)
Hours: Rotating Shifts – 6am–2pm / 2pm–10pm (Early Finish Fridays)

We're recruiting for an established manufacturing business in Stockport looking for a skilled CNC Setter / Operator to join its production team.

Working with CNC turning machinery, you'll be responsible for setting up equipment, adjusting tooling and producing precision-engineered components to exacting quality standards. • Set and operate CNC turning machines to production specifications.
• Set tooling, fixtures, workholding and tool offsets.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical instructions.
• Carry out tool changes and adjustments to maintain accuracy and quality.
• Identify and resolve machining issues to minimise downtime.
• Complete quality checks and maintain accurate production records.
• Support continuous improvement and maintain safe working practices.

• Previous experience setting and operating CNC turning machinery.
• Fanuc controls experience strongly preferred.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and work to tight tolerances.
• Good understanding of tooling, offsets and machining processes.
• Relevant engineering qualifications (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent experience).
• Strong attention to detail and a practical approach to problem-solving.
• Basic CNC programming knowledge would be advantageous.

• £43,200 annual salary, including shift allowance.
• Weekly rotating shifts: 6am–2pm / 2pm–10pm.
