Are you a compassionate and proactive professional with a passion for providing early support to families? We are seeking a dedicated Early Help Practitioner to join our pastoral team at a thriving secondary school in Blackpool. This is a crucial role designed to provide timely and targeted support to students and their families to prevent issues from escalating. You will be the first point of contact for families needing guidance and assistance, helping them overcome challenges that may affect a child''s learning and well-being.

Your work will be vital in our commitment to student success, ensuring every child feels safe, supported, and ready to learn.



Key Responsibilities

  • Lead on early help assessments and develop tailored support plans for vulnerable students and their families.

  • Work collaboratively with the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), ensuring all safeguarding and child protection procedures are followed.

  • Provide a first point of contact for parents, offering guidance and support on a range of issues, including attendance, behavior, and emotional well-being.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with families, acting as a link between the school and home.

  • Liaise with and refer to a network of multi-agency partners within the Blackpool community to secure the best possible outcomes for students.

  • Deliver one-to-one and group interventions to students who require additional support.



The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a resilient and empathetic individual with a proven track record of working with young people and families. You will be a skilled communicator with a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Essential Requirements:

  • A relevant qualification (e.g., Level 3 or higher) in social care, youth work, or a related field.

  • Proven experience as an Early Help Practitioner or a similar role like a Family Support Worker.

  • In-depth knowledge of safeguarding procedures and policies within an educational context.

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with students and parents.

  • A strong commitment to continuous professional development.
