Management Accountant

Location: Rochdale, Greater Manchester
Salary: -40,000 - -45,000 per annum
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Working Pattern: Office-based (Monday to Friday)

Description

Key responsibilities of a Management Accountant will include:

• Prepare accurate monthly management accounts within agreed deadlines.
• Produce profit and loss statements, balance sheets and cash flow reports.
• Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and annual financial planning.
• Analyse financial performance and investigate variances against budget.
• Produce monthly KPI reports and provide commentary for senior management.
• Business partner with department managers to support informed decision-making.
• Assist with year-end accounts and liaise with external auditors.
• Maintain strong financial controls and ensure compliance with company policies.
• Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and reporting.
• Support cash flow forecasting and working capital management.
• Assist with ad hoc financial analysis and projects as required.

Profile

The successful Management Accountant will:

• Be ACCA/CIMA Part Qualified or Qualified by experience
• Have previous experience as a Management Accountant with full ownership of month end close
• Manufacturing experience preferable, however not essential
• Strong understanding of management accounting principles.
• Experience using accounting and strong MS excel skills
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships across the business.
• High attention to detail and the ability to work to strict deadlines.
• A proactive and commercially minded approach with a continuous improvement mindset.
