When a young person faces severe upheaval, their daily environment can rapidly become chaotic and overwhelming. They do not need a strict observer; they require a grounding force who brings safety, stability, and calm into their home.

Randstad Care is building a specialised team of care workers to support young people across the Sketty and Uplands areas of Swansea. You will step into high needs residential environments, look beyond complex behaviours to understand underlying trauma, and help children regain control of their lives.

This position is ideal for candidates who have previously worked as a Youth Worker, Support Worker, Therapeutic Support Worker, Family Support Worker, Residential Childcare Worker, or Youth Mentor.

How you will make a difference

• Establish Security: Build meaningful relationships with vulnerable youth through consistent, trauma informed support.

• Promote Calm: De escalate moments of crisis, aggression, or distress with complete patience and emotional resilience.

• Shape Care Plans: Write clear daily records that directly inform long term therapeutic goals and multi agency strategies.

What you will bring

• Background: A minimum of 6 months of paid UK care experience in a children residential or youth setting.

• Mindset: A composed, non judgemental approach to managing complex and challenging behaviours.

• Mobility: A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle to escort young people on daily activities.
