Financial Accountant Southend on Sea, EssexSolopress is looking for a technically strong and commercially aware Financial Accountant to join our friendly and hardworking finance team.Reporting directly to the Finance Director, this pivotal role will ensure accurate financial reporting, IFRS compliance, and strong internal controls. The role will also include close collaboration with our German group company, supporting intercompany alignment and group-level reporting.Role Responsibilities Assisting with the preparation and review of the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRSMaintain internal controls and ensure adherence to financial policies and best practicesCoordinate with finance teams at the German group company to align accounting processes, intercompany reconciliations, and group reporting standardsSupport monthly management accounts, budgeting, and variance analysisPrepare year-end audit files and act as liaison with external auditorsMaintain accurate balance sheet reconciliations and ensure the integrity of financial dataSupport tax compliance, including VAT and corporation tax, in collaboration with advisorsRecommend and drive improvements in reporting systems, automation, and group integrationAssist with ad hoc finance projects and group-level initiatives Role Requirements Qualified or nearly qualified ACA / ACCA / CIMA accountant.
