International Shipping & Logistics Coordinator

Clacton-on-Sea, £35,000, Full-time, Permanent

Are you an organised and proactive shipping professional with experience in international freight and import coordination?

Large stable company is looking for an International Shipping & Logistics Coordinator to support its global supply chain, coordinating international shipments, managing documentation and working closely with suppliers, freight forwarders and internal teams.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and wants to make a real impact on shipping efficiency, cost control and supply chain performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate international and domestic shipments, particularly China-to-UK imports and cross-trade movements.
• Arrange container shipments and liaise with freight forwarders and shipping agents.
• Obtain and negotiate competitive freight rates across sea, air, rail and road.
• Manage shipping documentation, including invoices, packing lists, bills of lading and customs paperwork.
• Monitor shipment progress, resolve delays and communicate updates to internal teams.
• Maintain accurate shipment schedules, trackers and system records.
• Support purchase orders, supplier updates and procurement activities.
• Identify opportunities to reduce freight costs and improve processes.

About You

• Proven experience in international shipping or import coordination, ideally China-to-UK.
• Good understanding of import documentation, customs clearance and Incoterms, particularly CIF.
• Experience working with freight forwarders, shipping agents and suppliers.
• Knowledge of cross-trade shipments and container planning.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Confident communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Good IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
• ERP experience, ideally Salesforce/Rootstock, would be advantageous.
