Location: Various roles across Clacton-on-Sea, Colchester, Chelmsford and Basildon Service Type: Semi-Independent / EBD Contract: Ad Hoc / Temporary (Shift Cover Only) About the Role We are recruiting experienced Ad Hoc Support Workers to support - year olds within semi-independent services across Essex. This is ad hoc work only, covering sickness, annual leave and emergency/crisis situations. Shifts are offered by the on-call manager, so flexibility is essential. The young people supported present with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD) and often have complex needs, including: Mental health challenges Self-harm behaviours Substance misuse Learning disabilities History of offending Asylum-seeking backgrounds While the majority of placements are planned, the service also supports emergency referrals, so confidence working in high-pressure situations is important. Shift Patterns 8:00am 10:30pm + sleep-in 8:00am 3:30pm 3:00pm 10:30pm Key Requirements Experience working with -year-olds in semi-independent, residential or EBD services Confidence supporting young people with complex emotional and mental health needs Ability to work independently Calm, resilient and professional approach during crisis situations Flexibility to accept last-minute and emergency shifts Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one) What We Offer Flexible ad hoc work to fit around other commitments Variety of services and settings Support from an on-call
