Portfolio Procurement has been engaged by our Surrey based client to recruit for a Buyer. Main purpose of role:To own, maintain and develop an assigned portfolio of suppliers and products. Building strong, performance-managed supplier relationships that secure continuity of supply, drive down cost and risk, and keep stock and service levels on target. Duties:Own and maintain an assigned portfolio of suppliers.Hold regular supplier reviews.Ensure supplier terms and agreements are maintained and up to date.Build strong, long-term relationships with suppliers.Negotiate pricing, rebates, lead times with suppliers to meet company cost and margin targets.Place and expedite timely purchase ordersMaintain correct stock levels. Skills and Experience required:Previous experience as a Buyer from within a manufacturing environmentGood negotiation experience.Previous experience with managing suppliers.Good numeracy and written skills.Confident with various computer programmes including Outlook, Excel and an ERP/MRP system. 51957DHINDPROThe Portfolio Group are acting on behalf of our client in recruiting for this position. ..... full job details .....
