The role focuses on the accurate allocation, reconciliation, and management of income received from residents, businesses, and internal services, ensuring financial integrity and high-quality customer service.Key ResponsibilitiesAllocate and reconcile income received via BACS, CHAPS, card, cheque, online and bank depositsAdminister income reversals including refunds, chargebacks, unpaid cheques and Direct Debit rejectionsInvestigate and resolve income-related queries via phone, email and written correspondenceMonitor and clear suspense accounts, ensuring accurate coding and audit complianceMaintain accurate financial records and support reporting and audit requirementsLiaise with internal teams, banks and external partners to resolve discrepanciesSupport process improvements, digital workflows and automation initiativesEssential RequirementsProven experience as an Income Officer within a local authority, council or housing associationStrong numeracy, accuracy and attention to detailExperience using income or payment
