Senior Commercial Underwriter - New or Existing Business Location: Birmingham (hybrid working) Salary: Competitive Basic Salary + Bonus + Benefits IPS Group is working with a well-established Insrance Company to recruit a Senior Underwriter to join a growing and successful underwriting team. Opportunities are available across both new business and existing account underwriting, offering exposure to a broad and varied portfolio. The business has experienced strong growth, with GWP doubling over the past 7 years, driving continued expansion across the underwriting teams. The underwriting approach is focused on disciplined risk selection, supporting strong retention levels, profitable growth and a stable, high-quality portfolio. This is an open market, broker-traded role, working with both national and independent brokers. The role offers exposure to a broad mix of sectors, including care, heritage, real estate, professions, and faith, among others. Underwriters will manage a varied and diverse book rather than being restricted to a single niche. Premiums typically range from £5k to £500k, with responsibility for managing a portfolio of cases across either new business or existing accounts, including larger and more complex risks. There is also a market-facing element to the role, including broker meetings and occasional site visits alongside surveyors.
