SEN Teaching Assistant – Full-Time
Location: St Albans
Salary: £80–£110 per day (dependent on experience)
Start Date: September 2025

A warm and inclusive specialist school in St Albans is looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team in September 2025. The school supports pupils with autism and complex needs, offering a structured, nurturing environment backed by a skilled multidisciplinary team.
About the Role:This is a full-time, term-time role, perfect for someone with a caring, proactive attitude. Whether you''re experienced in SEN or new to the field, you’ll be welcomed into a team that prioritises collaboration, training, and pupil-focused support.
Key Responsibilities:Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with autism and related needs
Assist in delivering individualised learning and therapy sessions
Support pupils in developing communication, social, and life skills
Promote emotional regulation and use positive behaviour strategies
Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and families to ensure consistent care
Assist with personal care when needed
Keep accurate records and contribute to progress reviews
SEN experience is desirable but not essential
Calm, patient, and empathetic approach
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Willingness to learn and engage in CPD opportunities
Dependable, flexible, and committed to inclusion
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply
