The business is a market leader in its field and operates across multiple sites in the UK.Main Purpose of the RoleTo support the finance teams across residential sector business units with month-end responsibilities, internal reporting, and external audit coordination.Scope of the RoleThe Assistant Accountant will support the wider finance function, including AP and AR teams, and work closely with senior management. The role includes business partnering with other departments and providing data insights to support decision-making. Key ResponsibilitiesSupport finance period end including accruals and prepaymentsAssist with daily tasks such as cashflow forecasting and capex reconciliationProduce daily internal reportingComplete national statistics surveys and returnsSupport external audit by responding to queries promptlyPerform bank reconciliations for all accountsUpload manual payments to the bankConduct monthly stock counts across branchesProvide ad-hoc support as required Candidate RequirementsPassion for data analyticsLogical, structured, and methodical approachAbility to analyse trends and patternsStrong problem-solving skillsStrong Excel skills (e.g. SUMIFS, VLOOKUPs) and highly numerateExperienced in Accurals and Prepayme
