Quality Inspector

Salary: £48,000 per annum Permanent East Sussex

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Quality Inspector to join a well-established engineering and manufacturing business based in East Sussex.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong Quality Inspector with a background in precision engineering, machining or manufacturing to join an established team.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring components and assemblies meet stringent customer specifications, engineering drawings and quality standards within a highly regulated environment.

• Inspect incoming goods, precision-machined components and sub-assemblies.
• Carry out detailed inspections against engineering drawings and specifications.
• Operate a range of metrology equipment, including CMM and Faro Arm.
• Interpret complex technical drawings, GD&T, datum points and tight tolerances.
• Complete First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR) and Initial Sample Inspection Reports (ISIR).
• Identify, record and report non-conformances and deviations.
• Maintain accurate quality documentation in line with ISO 9001:2015.
• Work closely with production and engineering teams to resolve quality issues.
• Support continuous improvement and maintain high manufacturing standards.

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:

• Extensive experience in a Quality Inspector role within precision engineering, machining or manufacturing.
• Strong ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings.
• Hands-on experience using CMM and/or Faro Arm equipment.
• Good understanding of GD&T, geometric tolerancing and datum structures.
• Experience working with tight tolerances and complex components.
• Knowledge of FAIR, ISIR and quality documentation.
• Experience working within an ISO 9001 quality management system.
• Understanding of quality control methodologies, including SPC and AQL.
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work independently.

• Experience within aerospace, vacuum technology or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.
• Knowledge of welding and fabrication processes.
• HNC, HND or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing or an equivalent discipline.

• Salary of £48,000 per annum.
