Priory Wednesbury, England, United KingdomBrunswick House is looking to recruit a Senior Support Worker to join their team. This is a full time role.Pay Rate:
£13.10 per hour.Day shifts:
06:00 - 14:00 and 14:00 - 22:00 (35 hours per week) on a rota basis with weekends included.Brunswick House is located in Wednesbury, West Midlands. The service offers residential support for five adults, including those with a learning disability, people on the autism spectrum, and individuals with mental health needs. We specialise in supporting individuals who may be stepping down from a hospital setting, have complex needs, or require behavioural support. Our aim is to support residents to gain the skills they need to live active and fulfilled lives in the community.What You''ll Be Doing

We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future.Your positive attitude and passion for providing high quality care and support will be your key strengths, and you’ll have a friendly, patient and positive approach to work.As a Senior Support Worker, you will assist qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of residents. You will provide support with day to day activities, whilst encouraging and promoting independent living. You’ll help people reach their potential through practical and emotional support, making a positive difference to their lives.You will have gained experience in a similar setting, supervising and leading others. While a formal qualification is not required, you should be willing to complete a Level 3 qualification in Team Leadership and Management with Priory.Responsibilities
Supervise colleagues, lead team meetings and support peers with performance and professional developmentLead support planning and act as point of contact in the absence of site leadershipAssist with the management of site petty cash and client fundsSupport with personal care tasks, such as washing, dressing, eating and personal carePerform light housekeeping tasks, such as dusting, vacuuming, and changing bed clothesAssist with safe lifting, transferring, repositioning and movement of individualsSupport attendance at medical appointmentsObserve, monitor, and record physical and emotional well-being, and report changes to senior staffSupport development of family connections and liaise with specialists, including Speech and Language Therapists and Learning Disability teamsEncourage participation in social and recreational activities that promote involvement and personal growthQualifications and Skills
Previous experience in a similar settingGood numeracy skillsExcellent interpersonal skills and a caring natureEmpathy, understanding and patienceAbility to work on your own and as part of a teamAbility to understand and follow policies and proceduresThe ability to anticipate and respond to challengesCompetent in verbal and written EnglishA healthcare qualification is desirable, but not essentialTo be considered for this role, you must have the right to work in the UK.We offer full training and numerous pathways into leadership and qualified clinical positions to help you shape your career with us.
