Our client, a leading player in the defence sector, is currently seeking a Principal Engineer - Systems (Integration and Test) to join the team in Barrow on a contract basis.Key Responsibilities:Leading system integration and testing processes within a defence environmentCreating and compiling detailed test scripts for complex engineering systemsManaging and coordinating system integration and testing within SIM/STIM environmentsProviding technical expertise and support to engineering teamsEnsuring compliance with Defence Standards and industry regulationsOverseeing the acceptance testing and accreditation of safety-critical systemsDeveloping control system models using Mathworks toolsetsManaging requirements, engineering life cycle and quality assurance processesJob Requirements:Strong technical background in a complex engineering industryExperience with system integration, testing, and acceptanceProficiency in SIM/STIM environmentsAbility to compile effective test scriptsFamiliarity with Defence Standards and industry standards such as Def Stan 00-56, Def Stan 00-55, IEC 61508 / 61511, ARP 4754, DO-178C / DO-254Experience with the Mathworks toolsets for control system model developmentUnderstanding of systems engineering, requirements management, engineering lifecycle, and quality assuranceCEng, MIET or the ability to work towards satisfying these requirements is desirableBenefits:Opportunity to work with a prestigious defence clientExperience in a role critical to national
