Due to an expansion in our service we have exciting opportunities to support the Children’s Community Nursing Service in providing respite care, supporting outpatients clinics and special needs schools and some aspects of clinical care under the guidance of the registered nurse. To work as part of the Children’s Community Nursing Team by supporting the registered nurse in delivering a high standard of care to the child/young person and their family. To work as part of the nursing and multi-disciplinary team in the child’s own home and other establishments under the direction of a Community Children’s Nursing Borough Manager.Responsibilities

To work as part of the CCNS by supporting the registered nurse in delivering a high standard of care to the child/young person and their family.All necessary training will be given and the successful candidates will be supported to develop their knowledge, experience and skills. We also encourage wider development and career progression.Welsh language is desirable; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.Working for our organisation

Essential criteriaLevel III qualification in health and social care or childcare.Previous experience in healthcareDesirable criteriaPrevious experience working with children/young people and children with complex healthcare needs.Knowledge and skills

Essential criteriaAbility to carry out instructions accurately and efficiently.Excellent communications skills.Knowledge and understanding of the need for confidentiality.Ability to work as part of a team or as a lone worker.Sound knowledge of safeguarding children and young people.Evidence of continued educational development.Desirable criteriaComputer skillsPhlebotomy skillsKnowledge of Healthcare Support Workers Code of Conduct.Qualities
