Network Security Engineer Location: Stevenage Salary: Circa £50,000 depending on experience, plus shiftallowance Working Pattern: On-site, 24/7 shift pattern We are seeking a Network Security Engineer to join a specialistsecurity function, supporting the protection of critical networkinfrastructure within a highly secure engineering environment.Working as part of a 24/7 security response team, you willcombine network security expertise with incident triage, threatinvestigation and the continuous improvement of security systems. Key Responsibilities Design, configure and maintain network security solutions,including next-generation firewalls, secure proxies and intrusiondetection and prevention systems. Support 24/7 security incident response, working with SOCanalysts to investigate alerts, assess threats and coordinateappropriate responses. Analyse network traffic and packet captures to identifysuspicious activity, vulnerabilities and potential securitybreaches. Implement security improvements, address vulnerabilitiesidentified through security testing and help standardise networksecurity tools. Monitor network performance and security, troubleshoot complextechnical issues and maintain compliance with security standards. Candidate Requirements Strong knowledge of networking principles, including TCP/IP,DNS, routing, switching, VLANs and load balancing.
