Senior Environmental Health Officer
Description Our Local Government client, Hackney, London, is recruiting a Senior Environmental Health Officer to join our Environmental Health team within the Community Safety, Enforcement and Business Regulation service. In this role, you will play a key part in delivering environmental health and public protection services, contributing to the corporate priorities and improving standards across the borough. Key responsibilities: Conduct inspections of commercial premises and enforce environmental health legislation. Investigate complaints, incidents, and complex cases and prepare reports, case files, and prosecution documentation. Lead targeted operations and projects across areas such as: Health and Safety, Food standards, Infectious disease control, Licensing enforcement, and build strong partnerships with businesses and stakeholders to drive compliance. Provide expert advice to businesses and the public and manage complex investigations through to resolution or prosecution. Support, coach, and guide junior officers (PO3/PO4 levels) Qualification Essential GCSE Grade (or equivalent) in English Language and Mathematics. To hold an appropriate Environmental Health Registration Board-approved academic qualification, i.e. an MSc, BSc (Hons) or Diploma in Environmental. Health awarded by EHRB or REHIS To be EHORB registered or have passed the CIEH Assessment of Professional Evidence of continuing professional development Advanced Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, Socia
