Job Opportunity: Gear GrinderLocation: Near Burton Upon TrentHours: 40 per week - Mon-Thurs 7:00-16:00, Fri 7:00-13:00Contract: 6 months +, likely to be extended / go permanent all payrates are competitive depending on experience. We are looking for an experienced gear cutter / gear grinder to join our team. This is not a general operator role-it requires an apprentice-trained or time-served gear cutting specialist with specific knowledge of gear manufacturing processes. The role involves setting, programming, and operating gear cutting and grinding machinery to produce precision components and ensure all work meets quality standards.Key Responsibilities:Set, program, and operate gear cutting machineryRead and interpret drawings, instructions, and procedures accuratelyInspect and verify parts using precision measuring equipmentPerform inspections of equipment, structures, materials, and productsTroubleshoot and resolve issues to maintain quality standardsMaintain a safe working environment and comply with Health, Safety and Environmental regulationsSupport 5S activities, report near misses, and ensure proper disposal of wasteUndertake additional tasks within your skills and abilities as requiredIdeal Candidate:Recognised engineering qualification preferredMechanically minded with strong practical skills and problem-solving abilityProficient in gear nomenclature and measurement techniquesExperience with machines such as:TOS, Churchill, and Liebherr gear hobbing machinesBarber
