Our client is a global energy and commodity trading group and one of the most exciting and commercially driven Commodity Trading houses in the industry!Officially working as part of the broader London Middle Office team, you will support the growth of the metals trading function in London, and therefore it is essential that the candidate has Metals/LME Exchange markets knowledge and proven Middle Office/Product Control/Risk/Trading Assistant experience.PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:Responsible for timely Deal entry, correct position reporting, pricing reporting and adherence with trading limits.Production of a daily PnL for physical/LME metals business, be able to produce a breakdown and explain key drivers.Manage the risk profile of the trading business in line with the agreed appetite for risk and risk limits.IPV on prices, and volatility.Improvements to enhanced reporting platform and risk decomposition.Key point of contact for communicating changes to risk profile to management with clear narrative as to subsequent changes to risk profile and commercial understanding as to reasons for positions.Support with complex trade bookingStrong interaction with traders in a challenging and growing environment.Implement new controls: liaise with the Tech team to improve and enhance processes.Liaise with back office/trade support/accounting/credit teams.Work closely with the trading desk to understand their strategy and ability to challenge them.SKILLS:Strong understanding and proven experience gained within Physical and/or Derivatives Metals middle office.Current work-based experience in a similar role in a Metals trading environment is essential.Must have LME markets knowledge, with knowledge of LME Exchange.Circa 2 years of proven experience ideally.Familiar with logistics around the physical base metals market.Familiar with balance sheet management and funding.Ability to work as part of a team.Self-starter, organized and autonomous.Fluent English, speaking and writing.Advanced Excel skills, VBA ideally.Passionate about risk and processes, capable of working with the business lines to embed risk awareness and culture into everyday processes.
