Job Title: Designer/Estimator (Trainee Opportunity)

Location: Wincanton

Hours: 8am-5pm Monday-Friday

Salary: To be discussed on application - Dependant on experience

Are you looking to take your first steps into the world of design and engineering? Our client, a forward-thinking company based in Wincanton, is expanding their team and looking for a Trainee Designer / Estimator to join them. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a background in construction, plumbing, heating, or similar trades who is eager to learn and grow in a technical design role.

You will be a key player within the design & estimating team and will assist in all elements of project design and estimating.

This role is joining a small team of four and will report into the Senior Design Manager. You will be trained on all aspects of design, but it would be a real advantage if you have experience in a similar field or have studied in this area.

Training will be given but you must be motivated, enthusiastic and driven to learn.

What You''ll Be Doing:

• Supporting the team with design layouts, calculations, and specifications.
• Helping prepare quotations for projects
• Collaborating with experienced engineers and designers to produce coordinated designs.
• Attending client meetings to discuss project requirements.

The Candidate:

• You will have a background of working within construction or the trades such as plumbing, heating, mechanical, electrical industries.
• AutoCAD - This is a real advantage but training will be provided.
• Experience in assisting with small /medium projects.
• Experience of dealing with quotations, drawings, specifications
• A willingness to learn and be trained
