A Construction Manager is required in Hertfordshire to oversee contractors and coordinate construction activities across two secure sites in St Albans and Newmarket.

This 12-month contract involves managing a high volume of smaller-value construction projects, ensuring contractors work safely, efficiently and in line with site requirements. You''ll need a strong site management background, SMSTS certification and the ability to work within a secure environment.

The Role
 
As the Construction Manager, you''ll:

• Oversee contractors and construction activities across two secure sites.
• Manage multiple lower-value projects running simultaneously.
• Coordinate daily site activities to support efficient project delivery.
• Monitor contractor performance, progress and workmanship.
• Ensure works are carried out safely and in accordance with site procedures.
• Liaise with contractors and site stakeholders to coordinate ongoing works.
• Maintain effective site supervision across both locations.

About You
 
To be successful as the Construction Manager, you''ll have:

• Essential: Valid SMSTS certification.
• Proven experience in construction or site management.
• Experience managing high-volume, lower-value construction projects.
• A strong background in supervising contractors and coordinating site activities.
• Good knowledge of construction health and safety requirements.
• The ability to manage multiple workstreams across different locations.
• Eligibility for EL1 security clearance, which can be arranged as part of the appointment process.
