Locum Consultant Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist (Inpatient CAMHS)

Overview
The consultant psychiatrist will provide psychiatric assessments and treatment where appropriate; undertake risk assessments; contribute a psychiatric perspective and provide clinical leadership to the multidisciplinary team; provide consultation to other professionals and agencies and contribute to service developments. The post holder will participate in a range of activities including healthcare governance, quality improvement, teaching and training. The post holder will work closely with two other consultants and the multidisciplinary team in the assessment and management of young people and families with severe and enduring mental disorder and will liaise with community stakeholders including CAMHS, Social Care, Education, Youth Offending Teams, Acute Hospital and Adult Mental Health teams.Responsibilities
Provide psychiatric assessments and treatment where appropriate.Undertake risk assessments and contribute to risk management planning.Offer a psychiatric perspective and provide clinical leadership to the multidisciplinary team.Provide consultation to other professionals and agencies and contribute to service developments.Participate in healthcare governance, quality improvement, teaching and training activities.Engage with opportunities to discuss areas of special interest with potential candidates.Collaborate with the 2 other consultants and the multidisciplinary team in the assessment and management of young people and families with severe and enduring mental disorder.Liaise with community stakeholders including CAMHS, Social Care, Education, Youth Offending Teams, Acute Hospital and Adult Mental Health teams.Organisation and Culture

The Coborn Centre for Adolescent Mental Health provides a highly specialised in-patient service for adolescents with severe and complex mental disorder. The centre comprises a PICU, an Acute ward and a Day Service, supported by a multidisciplinary team delivering holistic biopsychosocial assessments and treatment with a focus on co-production. The Trust is committed to flexible working arrangements, including job share and part-time options where feasible.Fixed Term - 12 months. 10 sessions per week. This is a Fixed term Consultant role at the Coborn Centre for Adolescent Mental Health, based in East London. The Coborn Centre is rated Outstanding by the CQC and is part of a larger Trust recognised for excellence in mental and health care, innovation and quality improvement.
