Key Responsibilities

• 
  

  Assisting the Chef and Catering Manager with the day-to-day running of the kitchen.

• 
  

  Preparing and serving hot and cold food.

• 
  

  Serving meals to pupils and staff.

• 
  

  Supporting the smooth running of meal services.

• 
  

  Operating tills and handling payments where required.

• 
  

  Cleaning and clearing kitchen and dining areas.

• 
  

  Maintaining high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and kitchen safety.

• 
  

  Following food safety and allergen procedures.

• 
  

  Ensuring food preparation and service areas remain clean, tidy and well stocked.

What We''re Looking For

• 
  

  Previous experience as a Catering Assistant, Kitchen Assistant or Food Service Assistant.

• 
  

  School catering experience is advantageous but not essential.

• 
  

  Food Safety and Allergen qualifications, or willingness to complete the required training.

• 
  

  Enhanced DBS covering the Child Workforce, including the relevant barred list check where required, or willingness to obtain one.

• 
  

  Good communication and teamwork skills.

• 
  

  Ability to work in a busy kitchen environment.

• 
  

  Reliable, punctual and professional approach.

• 
  

  Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• 
  

  A positive attitude and willingness to get stuck in.
