Role: Building Control SurveyorLocation: MerseysideContract: 12-Week Temporary ContractPay Rate: Up to 32 per hourWorking Hours: 36 Hours Per Week (Monday to Friday)About the RoleWe are currently recruiting for two Building Control Surveyors to join a busy Local Authority Building Control team based in Birkenhead.In this role, you will play a central part in ensuring all building and construction activities across the North West adhere to statutory Building Regulations, Approved Documents, and public safety standards.Key ResponsibilitiesInspect deposited plans and building notices to assess compliance with Building Regulations and relevant legislation.Conduct statutory on-site inspections across domestic and commercial developments, ensuring workmanship, materials, and practices comply with approved plans.Assess basic structural calculations and consult with external statutory bodies, including the fire service and water authorities.Investigate unauthorised building works, contraventions, and dangerous structures, preparing formal statements and enforcement documentation where required.Participate as required in the out-of-hours emergency call-out rota for dangerous structures.Provide professional technical advice and guidance to architects, developers, contractors, and members of the public.Candidate RequirementsProven experience working as a Building Control Surveyor within a Local Authority or Approved Inspector / Registered Building Control Approver (RBCA) ..... full job details .....
