My client is looking to recruit a Mechanical Engineering apprentice trained Technician who wants to develop to Mechanical Design. You will join this innovative specialist manufacturer as Junior Mechanical Design Engineer, and with the support of a large mechanical engineering team, will develop and grow your experience and knowledge. Your starting point will working with CAD drawings on a day-to-day basis using Solidworks. Your day to day as a Junior Mechanical Design Engineer: Create product models and drawings in a CAD package (SolidWorks), including a detailed understanding of geometrical product specification (GPS) tolerancing to BS8888:2020, dimensioning and stress analysis (finite element and hand calculation). Write and review technical documents to support products, from build procedures, operation and maintenance manuals and technical files / design reports. Create parts, assemblies, bills of materials within our PDM system. Undertake experimental and validation testing where required with our products. Developing and improving manufacturing and assembly processes / procedures for both new and existing products.
