Conrad Consulting is working with an established building consultancy to recruit an experienced Design Manager for an exciting 26-week contract opportunity based in Plymouth. This is an excellent opportunity for a Design Manager with experience coordinating multidisciplinary design teams and managing design delivery on complex construction projects. The successful candidate will be working on a high-profile Defence project, taking responsibility for design coordination, technical compliance and ensuring design information is delivered in line with programme and project requirements. The Role Manage and coordinate the design process throughout the project lifecycle. Lead multidisciplinary design teams, including architects, engineers and specialist consultants. Coordinate design reviews, technical submissions and design approvals. Monitor design programmes, ensuring information is delivered in line with construction deadlines. Identify and manage design risks, technical issues and potential design changes. Ensure designs comply with relevant statutory requirements, Building Regulations, CDM and project specifications. Work closely with the Project Manager, client representatives and contractors to ensure effective design delivery. Attend design team meetings and provide regular progress reports to key stakeholders.
